I still think Jones should have started with Mullan. It would have been a good opportunity to test him out and this level. Given Marler and the skipper's lack of playing time it seems a bit daft to start with both.
Thing is about France, I'm not sure anyone knows anymore what their game is or is trying to be...and that goes back to Laporte. Noves is no fool though. Just a bit strange to hear him talk about 'developing' players. That's bollocks, you got to play to win first and foremost. You don't hear any of that shite from Eddie.

Totally agree.
Any side losing the 2 V brothers and Kruis would struggle, but the depth is incredible. Although Billy will still be the biggest miss here.
Much as France should never be underestimated and are overdue to start playing, I think they have fallen into the Jones mindtrap. A pack picked to fight war with England, will see them break from their natural game, and England will play a more open game...
Scotland have a 17/18 to give anyone a game but have no real depth. They could turn Ireland over, but won't last the tournament once injuries mount.
Straight forward win for Wales, getting them thinking they are challengers before they then lose the remaining games....
